Re: two of our greatest strikers agree
i went to see Brentford just before LOCKDOWN as i had never been to Griffin park

Watkins was excellent and got the winner, but BENRAHMA is a real star player, full of skill

the whole Brentford team was great to watch, to be honest

Cheers Hugh.

I hate the fact that we are reliant on bigger forwards because of our direct style but we are so this bloke is a bad fit based entirely on that.

Be awesome i reckon, but i'd imagine more OUT's than IN's.

Re: two of our greatest strikers agree
He's well under 6 foot so it would likely be the same issue as the taller Ajeti has - how do you compete physically at this level, and how do you offer any alternative to what Haller does for us? In a committed passing side then maybe that doesn't matter as much, but we've only really found success this season playing a more direct style.

Realistically we'd likely end up trying to work out how to play him behind Haller in the less pressured games, or competing with Bowen / Yarmolenko / Snodgrass / Antonio / Diangana for a wider role. So basically not the role he's been playing this season anyway.

He is the kind of signing we need going forward.

Would be happy with him or Harlan Grant from Huddersfield.

Re: two of our greatest strikers agree
If you'd have mentioned the podcasts on which they both mentioned these players, other WHOers would be more inclined to take you seriously.

As it is, you post heresay as if you have voices in your head.

It is interesting that Ashton and Cottee both rate Watkins in particular. If you'd begun a serious discussion about that - with sources - people may listen more. HTH.
